NBCOT Occupational Therapist Registered Exam Practice Test

To be eligible, candidates must have successfully completed an accredited occupational therapy educational program (master's or doctoral degree). They must also complete all required fieldwork (Level II) and submit a complete application with official transcripts to NBCOT for verification before receiving an Authorization to Test (ATT).

The OTR exam is a 4-hour, computer-adaptive test (CAT) consisting of three clinical simulation (CST) testlets and 170 multiple-choice questions. The number of scored items is 180, with additional unscored pretest items. The CAT format adjusts question difficulty based on the test-taker's performance, providing a precise measure of competency.

The NBCOT uses a scaled scoring system ranging from 300 to 600. The minimum passing standard is a scaled score of 450. This scaled score is not a percentage but a reflection of a candidate's performance relative to the established standard for entry-level practice.

NBCOT allows candidates to retake the exam. You must wait 30 days before your next attempt and submit a new examination application with the associated fee.
