Is the exam open-book? What reference materials are allowed?

Yes, the exam is open-book. You may bring any printed materials, including the NCEES PE Industrial Engineering Reference Handbook (which is provided digitally during the exam), textbooks, class notes, and bound notebooks. All materials must be bound (three-ring binders are acceptable) and cannot contain handwritten notes that are solutions to problems. Loose papers are not permitted. How should I prioritize studying across so many different topics?

Begin by thoroughly reviewing the NCEES exam specifications, which outline the exact percentage weight of each topic. What is the best way to practice for the exam format?

I have experience in only one area of IE (e.g., quality or logistics). Will this be a disadvantage?

How important is it to be fast with the NCEES reference handbook?
