SnowPro Advanced: Administrator (ADM-C01) Practice Test

Snowflake strongly recommends, but does not strictly require, that candidates first obtain the SnowPro Core Certification. The most critical prerequisite is substantial, hands-on experience (typically 2+ years) administering Snowflake in a production environment. The exam is designed for professionals who have practical knowledge of account management, security controls, performance tuning, and data governance within Snowflake.

The Core certification validates broad, foundational knowledge across all Snowflake roles (Admin, Architect, Data Engineer, etc.). The Advanced Administrator exam delves deeply into the specific domain of administration, testing expert-level skills in architecture, security implementation, advanced performance optimization, and complex operational management. It focuses on scenario-based questions that require judgment and analysis, rather than recall of basic facts.

The ADM-C01 exam consists of 65 multiple-choice and multiple-select questions. Candidates are allotted 115 minutes (1 hour and 55 minutes) to complete the exam. The passing score is determined by Snowflake's psychometric analysis and is not publicly disclosed, as it can vary slightly between exam versions to maintain consistency and security.

Effective preparation combines multiple resources: 1) Extensive hands-on experience in a Snowflake account, 2) Thorough review of the official Exam Guide and Snowflake documentation, 3) Completion of Snowflake's advanced administrator training courses (instructor-led or on-demand), 4) Study of advanced concepts like Resource Monitors, Hybrid Tables, cost management tools, and security models, and 5) Utilizing practice exams to familiarize yourself with the question style and time pressure.

The SnowPro Advanced: Administrator certification is valid for two years from the date you pass the exam. To renew, you must either retake and pass the current version of the ADM-C01 exam or earn a higher-level SnowPro certification (like the SnowPro Advanced: Architect or Data Engineer) before your current certification expires. This ensures certified professionals maintain up-to-date knowledge with the evolving platform.
