AWS Advanced Networking Specialty (ANS-C01) Practice Test

While the Solutions Architect - Professional covers a broad range of architectural domains (compute, storage, database, networking, etc.) at an advanced level, the ANS-C01 delves much deeper exclusively into networking. It focuses on nuanced details of routing policies, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) configurations, advanced VPC designs (e.g., transit gateway architectures, sharing), network optimization for performance and cost, and specialized services like Direct Connect, Global Accelerator, and Route 53 routing policies. It is for specialists, whereas the SAP is for generalist architects.

Core services include Amazon VPC (peering, endpoints, flow logs), AWS Transit Gateway (routing tables, attachments, sharing), AWS Direct Connect (virtual interfaces, Link Aggregation Groups, Direct Connect Gateway), VPN (AWS Site-to-Site VPN, CloudHub), Amazon Route 53 (routing policies, Resolver, DNS Firewall), AWS Global Accelerator, and AWS Cloud WAN. Deep understanding of security integrations with AWS IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, AWS Network Firewall, and AWS WAF is also paramount. The ANS-C01 exam consists of 65 multiple-choice and multiple-response questions to be completed in 170 minutes. The exam is available in English, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. Results are reported as a scaled score from 100-1000, with a passing mark typically understood to be 750 or above. The score report provides a breakdown of performance by domain.
