APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Practice Test

While APICS does not enforce strict prerequisites, they strongly recommend that candidates have a foundational understanding of supply chain concepts. This is typically gained through a combination of a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 2-3 years of related business experience, or 5+ years of relevant supply chain work experience. The exam assumes a working knowledge of core operations and logistics principles, making real-world experience invaluable for contextualizing the advanced material.

The CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) focuses deeply on internal operations within an organization-production planning, scheduling, inventory control, and materials management. The CSCP, in contrast, takes an expansive, end-to-end view of the entire supply chain, from supplier relationships through internal operations to customer delivery and reverse logistics. It emphasizes integration, strategy, and global coordination. Many professionals pursue CPIM first for internal mastery, then CSCP for a broader strategic perspective.

The CSCP exam is a computer-based test consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions, to be completed in 3.5 hours. The questions are designed to test both recall and application of knowledge across the three main modules of the CSCP Learning System. The exam uses a scaled scoring system, with a passing score of 300 on a scale of 200 to 350. Questions often present real-world scenarios requiring analysis and the selection of the best course of action.
