Cambridge A2 Key (KET) Practice Test

The A2 Key is ideal for school-aged learners building a portfolio of English qualifications, adult learners seeking a first formal certification to prove their basic skills, and professionals or individuals needing to demonstrate foundational English for personal, travel, or entry-level vocational purposes. It is often taken by students at the end of a beginner-to-elementary course.

The exam consists of three papers: Reading and Writing (70 minutes, 60% of total marks), Listening (30 minutes, 25% of total marks), and Speaking (8-10 minutes per pair of candidates, 25% of total marks). Results are reported on the Cambridge English Scale. A score of 120-139 results in a Pass with Distinction (Grade A, representing B1 level), 140-150 is Pass with Merit (Grade B), and 120-139 is a Pass (Grade C, A2 level). Scores below 120 do not receive a certificate.

The A2 Key is accepted worldwide as proof of basic English ability. While it is often a stepping stone rather than a direct entry requirement for universities, it is recognized by thousands of educational institutions, employers, and government departments globally.
