National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) Practice Test

The NPTE for Physical Therapists is a 5-hour, computer-based exam consisting of 250 multiple-choice questions, of which 200 are scored. The NPTE for Physical Therapist Assistants contains 200 questions with 150 scored. The NPTE uses a scaled scoring system ranging from 200 to 800. A scaled score of 600 is required to pass for both the PT and PTA exams. The exam is built from a detailed content blueprint. Major systems categories include: Musculoskeletal (approx. 33%), Neuromuscular & Nervous Systems (approx. 33%), Cardiovascular & Pulmonary, Integumentary, and Other Systems (e.g., Metabolic, Gastrointestinal). A significant portion, 'Non-Systems,' covers foundational areas like Safety & Protection; Equipment & Devices; Therapeutic Modalities; and Professional Responsibilities (Research, Law, Ethics).
