Professional Cloud Architect Practice Test

Google recommends 3+ years of industry experience, including at least 1 year designing and managing solutions using Google Cloud Platform. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with GCP services, have performed cloud assessments, designed scalable architectures, and managed implementation projects. While not strictly mandatory, this level of experience is strongly advised to understand the practical scenarios presented in the exam.

The Associate Cloud Engineer is an entry-level certification focused on deploying, monitoring, and maintaining projects on GCP. The Professional Cloud Architect is an advanced certification focused on designing, planning, and managing cloud solution architecture. The Architect exam requires a broader, deeper, and more strategic skill set, involving business-process analysis, designing for requirements, and making high-level architectural trade-offs, whereas the Associate exam tests operational proficiency and foundational implementation skills.

The exam consists of 50-60 multiple-choice and multiple-select questions to be completed in 2 hours. It is delivered in-person at a test center or online via remote proctoring. The questions are scenario-based, requiring analysis of case studies and selection of the best architectural approach. Google does not publish a specific numerical passing score, as it is scaled based on question difficulty. Results are simply reported as Pass or Fail.

The Professional Cloud Architect certification is valid for two years from the date you pass the exam. To recertify, you must pass the current version of the exam before your certification expires. This ensures that certified professionals maintain up-to-date knowledge of Google Cloud's evolving platform, services, and best practices.
