SAFe Practitioner (SP) Practice Test

While there are no strict mandatory prerequisites, it is highly recommended that candidates have prior experience in a Scrum, Agile, or SAFe environment. Attendance at the official two-day 'SAFe(R) for Teams' course, led by a SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), is the standard preparation path and provides access to the exam, all study materials, and the practice test.

The exam is a closed-book, web-based test consisting of 45 multiple-choice questions. Candidates have 90 minutes (1.5 hours) to complete the exam. A passing score is 73% (33 out of 45 questions correct). The exam is taken online in a proctored environment.

The SP certification is valid for one year from the date of issuance. To renew, you must pay an annual renewal fee and earn 10 Continuing Education/Professional Development units. These can be obtained through various activities such as attending relevant events, webinars, or taking additional SAFe courses.

The ideal candidate is any member of an Agile Team or an Agile Release Train (ART) in a SAFe organization. This includes Software and System Architects, Developers, Testers, Business Analysts, Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Release Train Engineers who are new to SAFe and need to understand their role in a scaled context.

The CSM focuses on the fundamentals of Scrum and the Scrum Master role at a single-team level. The SAFe Practitioner certification builds upon Agile and Scrum knowledge but specifically focuses on how individuals and teams operate within the larger, scaled context of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including roles, events, and artifacts at the program and team level.
