SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Practice Test

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent examination from a recognized board. The age limit is typically 18-27 years, with permissible relaxations for candidates belonging to reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST, PwD, etc.) as per Government of India norms. The selection is a three-tiered process: Tier-I is an objective, computer-based test covering General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and General Awareness. Appointment through SSC CHSL provides a foundational position within the central government with a clear, time-bound promotion ladder. Employees are governed by the Central Civil Services (CCA) Rules, ensuring job security, periodic pay revisions (as per the Pay Commission), a defined pension scheme (NPS), and other allowances. The experience and seniority gained open avenues for departmental exams for promotion to higher grades, making it a launchpad for a full-fledged, progressive career in government administration.

SSC CHSL is for recruitment to lower-level clerical and assistant posts (Group 'C' & 'B' Non-Gazetted) requiring 10+2 qualification, such as LDC, JSA, PA, and DEO. SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) is for graduate-level candidates and recruits to higher Group 'B' and Group 'C' Gazetted and Non-Gazetted posts like Assistant, Inspector, Auditor, and Accountant. CGL offers higher starting grades, pay scales, and more senior responsibilities compared to CHSL. The syllabus and difficulty level of CGL are also consequently more advanced.

The Tier-III test is qualifying. For the post of Data Entry Operator (DEO), a data entry speed of 8,000 Key Depressions per hour is tested. For LDC/JSA/PA/SA, a typing speed of 35 words per minute (wpm) in English or 30 wpm in Hindi is required. Preparation involves consistent daily practice on a computer keyboard using recommended software or online tools to build both speed and accuracy.
